Discovery Shores Boracay embarked on the Ecobrick Project, a multi department initiative to repurpose discarded plastics into building materials called “Ecobricks.” In this project, employees took part in a workshop where they were taught how to properly pack clean and dry used plastics into PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles to achieve a target density, and turn them into a basic building block unit. These units would be built into functional pieces like plant boxes, tables and chairs. Once ready, these will be donated to a chosen school in Boracay for students to use.
